The Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau (LCCVB) hosted Southern Cooks LIVE on Oct. 13 with guests Liberty County community member and mom of three boys, Jennifer Cardella, and Mrs. Santa Claus.

Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus make a special visit to Liberty County every year to celebrate Liberty’s annual Christmas traditions on the first weekend of December. Mrs. Claus came to bake cookies with Cardella and also to remind the community of the upcoming 21st annual Illuminated Christmas Parade, set for Dec. 1, and the 11th annual Christmas in the Park on Dec. 2.

Cardella shared a special, from-scratch Christmas Angel sugar cookie recipe, originally from the Pioneer Woman cookbook.

“When I’m tired or (am busy) doing laundry, I always pull out this recipe because it is literally half as hard as (homemade) chocolate chip cookies,” Cardella said.

The community is invited to re-watch the episode where Cardella and Mrs. Claus share their joy for baking from scratch and tips to making fluffy and Santa-approved homemade cookies on the LCCVB Facebook as @explorelibertycounty.
