Hinesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority members and Social Action Committee on Nov. 12 held a free Affordable Care Act forum at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

The purpose of the forum was to provide guidance on health insurance options through the Marketplace, Medicaid and Children’s Health Program (CHIP).

Cozell Harris of InsureGA was on hand to answer questions and provide enrollment assistance to those seeking to obtain health insurance.

Of the 13 attendees and 127 viewers watching live on Facebook, one was successfully enrolled into the marketplace, another was able to gain more information regarding healthcare for her parents, and an executive with a small business was able to leave with helpful information to ensure that the employees at her business can be covered under the ACA.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. currently has an ongoing partnership with the Affordable Care Act, which was unveiled during last year.

"It has been a pleasure working with the women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
