Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

We live in the Bible belt. Most counties don’t allow Sunday liquor sales, but the Georgia Lottery winning numbers are on TV Sunday night. Figure that out.

Over 3,000 churches have failed since October and it’s time to make God happy instead of lying to make a point or to win. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Has anybody in Hinesville heard about the DOL layoffs of approximately 300 employees? Liberty County better get ready.

I would like to thank the clerk of superior and state court, Barry Wilkes, for the happy birthday letter.

I think that the kids in this town have more rights than the parents. If the parents are paying the bills, the kids need to listen and the cops don’t seem to realize that.

I wonder why rich people do not see the benefits of having poor people prosper and have their own businesses so that they won’t have to live off their unpaid taxes to take care of them.
