Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Be careful. You’ve been trying to do things to hurt others on the job site. But remember, everything is going down except the word of God.

I think it is against the law for anyone that wants to run for mayor or city council that has filed for bankruptcy. I think it’s against the ethics code of the Georgia municipalities.

I’d like to thank the Tea Party for spreading the revolt around the world for protesting for the things they want. It’s falling like dominoes and the people are getting results.

I applaud Savannah Mayor Otis Johnson for having the courage and conviction to take a stand.

I’d like to know why the Highlanders are playing teams that they know they can beat instead of schools that will give them a challenge. All the teams they play, they beat like 72 to 25. I mean, like, come on now.

Surprise, surprise — with all the talk about pay raises out there, is there anyone that didn’t think the current mayor and council members would seek re-election?

Hello, Fort Stewart. All the soldiers are back. We need to see about getting all these gates opened earlier so we can all get to work on time.
