Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

I think it’s unfair for a coach to play an eighth-grader on a high-school team when you have so many ninth-graders qualified to play. They will have their chance next year. This is unfair to other kids to have a chance to improve their game.

Yeah, the Liberty County fire coordinator is doing an outstanding job; however, all departments need to support him. Please, all fire departments, support your county fire coordinator. He’s doing an outstanding job.

The caller that said to quit complaining about the electric bills was a power employee admonishing a customer for complaining about their increasing bills.

WTOC reported on Wednesday that now customers may have an option to opt-out of the smart meters, but there will be a cost.

Mr. Editor, would you please publish more Sound offs? Four per issue is not getting it. Some people just buy your paper for that reason, to read the Sound offs. So let’s increase the Sound offs if you don’t mind.
