Sound off for May 27

Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not know if they are true, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

My house insurance is very high. I live in Gum Branch. Why did the east end of the county get three fire fighting tankers. The closest we have is in Hinesville. Please, commissioners, treat the whole county equally.

I certainly agree with the Sound off callers about the mosquitoes. I don’t know if they were from the outskirts of Hinesville, but I live right in the middle of the city and can’t even go out my door most all day.

I’m so tired about Fort Stewart preaching about family when you got one soldier just back from 15 months in Iraq and now he’s gone to Korea for another year with only five months at home. They’re stressing the soldiers out.
Here’s a message to all the people complaining about Liberty County and Hinesville, always complaining about it: Highway 84 goes east and west and I-95 goes north and south. Take your choice if you don’t like it here.

The stabbing was on West Oglethorpe Highway, not McArthur. And it was at the homeless center.
