Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

How many grown adult children are very successful at business, but too busy to acknowledge or have time for their elderly parents? Time is shorter than we think.

You people need to quit downing this president and ask yourself one question: What did George Bush do for you?

I agree the caller who said bring back spanking. We also need to bring back two-parent households.

I agree with the caller who said that they need to bring back spanking and respect for elders, because these kids today are very, very rude.

We can’t say the Lord’s Prayer in school. We can’t sing gospel songs. We can’t do this or that about God’s word. Yet, we can make our children sit and listen to the president. Take the politics out and put God back in.

Did you see the Midway budget? One-third comes from fines and forfeitures. No wonder they have three police officers to harass everyone.
