Blues legend Eddie Kirkland to perform

The fourth annual Blues and BBQ Concert in Hinesville will be from 6-10 p.m. Sept. 15 at Bradwell Park.
Four of the area’s finest barbecue vendors, Sho-Nuff, Marion Family BBQ, Tina’s Deli, and T & L Enterprises, will be selling their barbecue beginning at 6 p.m.
Eddie Kirkland, a blues legend, will be the featured performer for the free concert. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Kirkland is expected to begin at 8:30 after Ben Prestage kicks off the musical performances.
Kirkland got together with John Lee Hooker, a famous blues artist, in the 1950s and had his first recording with Hooker in 1952. He recorded and toured with Hooker during the 1950s and 1960s. Kirkland moved to Macon in the 1960s and toured for three years with Otis Redding.
The Blues and BBQ Concert is being presented by the Hinesville Area Arts Council and MWR. Bradwell Park is at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Commerce Street next to the Liberty County Courthouse.
