The Richmond Hill Historical Society will present the award-winning documentary “Stubborn as a Mule” at 7 p.m. June 2 in the Richmond Hill Museum.
The directors of the film, Miller Bargeron Jr. and Arcelious J. Daniels, will be present and available to answer questions.
“Stubborn as a Mule” depicts the lesser-known historical facts of the Civil War as it relates to the coast of Georgia and is combined with contemporary commentary from experts. 
The film revisits the events that took place between Sherman’s March to the Sea, President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, the end of the Civil War and the unraveling of promises ushered in during the Reconstruction Period in the South.
Event organizers said this will be one of the more interesting and thought-provoking presentations in the historical society’s 2011 lecture series and may change the way attendees look at the many facets of history and how they relate to the individual.
The historical society’s meetings are free to public.
