Music lineup set for Blues and BBQ festival

The musical lineup has been announced for the ninth annual Blues and BBQ festival, set for Sept. 29 in the parking lot across from the Justice Center on M.L. King Jr. Drive in Hinesville.

Jimmy Wayne Renfro will take the stage at 4 p.m., EverReady will perform at 6 p.m., and headliner Joey Gilmore will play from 9-11 p.m.

Gilmore has shared the stage with the likes of James Brown and Etta James and was the winner of the 2006 International BLUES Challenge. Gilmore will perform covers and original songs.

Renfro has worked with musicians such as Montgomery Gentry, Jason Aldean and Tanya Tucker. EverReady, a band from Midway, will play a variety of music from classic rock to blues right in the middle of the lineup.

The free event also will feature a sidewalk chalk contest that is open to everyone. More details soon will be available at www.hinesvillearts.com.

The festival will run from 4-11 p.m. Sept. 29 and also will include a barbecue competition.
