Christopher Smith, whose performances have been acclaimed by both the press and attendees, will present selections from an upcoming White House engagement during his visit to Glennville at 7 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the Glennville City Auditorium.

His concerts are full of high energy and musical passion. He was raised in Oxford, Ala., where at the age of 4, he began to take piano lessons from his mother, Gladys Smith. He has studied under numerous accomplished teachers including Dr. Patricia Parker of Jacksonville State University, and Polish-Russian Concert Pianist Dr. Viatold Terkevitch of Samford University.
Christopher Smith has performed at the White House five times in three years and is the artist-in-residence for the Sea Island Company — a Five Star, Five Diamond Resort on the beautiful Golden Isles of Coastal Georgia. His musical recordings have been heard in 28 countries and have received airplay across the nation. As a classical virtuoso, Smith has performed for U.S. Presidents, Middle Eastern kings, foreign diplomats and dignitaries, Hollywood stars, governors, senators, and honored guests at the G-8 Summit at Sea Island. His debut at Carnegie Hall was completely sold-out and he has been invited to come back to Carnegie in 2008. He will be returning to the White House this coming December.
Tickets are on sale now for $8 and $12 at the following locations:  Auto Care, Inc. and Georgia Farm Bureau (both on E.G. Miles Parkway).
A special limited opportunity for interaction with Smith is available to music teachers, their students, and church musicians through a pre-concert “Meet the Artist” session featuring up close discussion of practice regimens, technique, and Q & A.  Call 654-3034 or 654-3037 for more information.
Smith’s appearance in Glennville is sponsored by the Fine Arts Department of Glennville Christian Academy.
