Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity. Nor do we know what motivated the callers.

 

The Republicans want tax cuts while people get unemployment benefits. The money will run out. The Democrats want stimulus packages and that’s what’s needed to continue to pay the light bill and people to eat.

Hinesville, why can’t you just mind your own business?
If you’re going to complain about signs that say “generics,” get your store right. The commissary doesn’t have generics.

Any time the U.S. Senate is unanimous in approving an amendment I get nervous. But I like Sen. Johnny Isakson’s housing stimulation commitment.

To city planners and others that design the buildings and parking lots: Look at the courthouse, hospital and other buildings where the parking lots don’t hold all the cars. It would be nice to have a place to park when everyone is at work.
