Spring cleaning at Fort McAllister

Fort McAllister State Historic Park will have a Civil War trust volunteer day from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the park.
Volunteers will help the park staff with a spring cleanup in and around the fort. They also will paint the fort’s cannons. T-shirts and lunch will be provided for volunteers. There will also be a presentation about the fort’s history.
Fort McAllister is on Georgia Spur 144/ Fort McAllister Road in Richmond Hill. Take Interstate 95 to exit 90 and go east on Highway 144. Look for signs.
