Savannah - The Savannah Philharmonic will host a cocktail party to premier the 2010-11 concert season at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at the Jepson Center for the Arts, 121 Barnard Street.
After cocktails in the Eckburg Atrium, guests will be invited into the Neises Auditorium for a presentation by Peter Shannon, artistic director and conductor of the Savannah Philharmonic. The presentation will feature highlights and excerpts from this upcoming season.
"We have a varied and exciting season ahead," Shannon said. "We have something for everyone, from rock ‘n' roll to opera."
The event is open to the public and is free to philharmonic members. Telfair members can buy tickets for $30 and non-members can purchase tickets for $35. Ticket purchases can be applied to memberships at the Telfair and with the Savannah Philharmonic. A joint membership to the Telfair and the philharmonic will be available at a discounted price that evening.
