A study on womens purchasing trends showed that ladies will spend over $200,000 on beauty products in their lifetime thats a whole lot of cash. To avoid spending as much as a house on beauty supplies, try out these nine low-cost everyday products that can be used in your beauty routine:

1. Baby powder

If youre like me, you want to put off washing your hair-do just one day longer. When you feel your roots beginning to get oily, do spray on a flurry of partially effective, expensive dry shampoo? Instead, just sprinkle the top of your head with a bit of baby powder and rub in until the white coloring is gone.

The powder hides the feel and look of greasy hair thoroughly and inexpensively! To help blend the powder in with darker hair, mix baby powder and dark cocoa powder.

Buy it here for under $2: Johnsons Baby Powder, 4 oz.

2. Ice cubes

After you wash your face and before you apply any make-up, rub an ice cube over your face. Its a bit chilly, but itll do wonders for your skin. Encountering the cold ice causes your pores to close and reduces any redness or puffiness. Itll also help your makeup last longer throughout the day. Now, you won't need bottles of expensive toner.

3. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has so many secret uses. You can use a bit on your hair in the shower to remove the unhealthy buildup from hair products. You can dab a bit onto your face to treat acne and balance out skin spotting. You can even throw a bit into your morning drink to curb your appetite and jumpstart your metabolism.

Buy it: Bragg Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, 16 oz.

4. Coconut oil

Did you know you can also use coconut oil in your beauty routine? Theres a plethora of coconut oil beauty hacks out there, but here are a few of our favorites:

  • Rub a bit in your hair to prevent frizz and dryness.

  • Use the oil instead of shaving cream or soap to get the smoothest shave of your life.

  • Strengthen your nails and cuticles by rubbing in a bit of the oil.

  • Use it plain or mixed with essential oils as a hydrating lip gloss.

Buy it: Viva Naturals Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 16 oz.

5. Lemon juice

Want lighter hair but dont want to spend money at a salon? Mix equal parts lemon juice and water in a spray bottle. Shake it up and spritz all over your hair. The acid in the lemon will lighten your tresses right up, especially if you spend a lot time in the sun that day. If youre afraid the lemon juice will dry your hair, use this concoction to avoid dryness.

The results wont be as dramatic as bleach highlights, but with repeated days of spraying, youll begin to see your hair lightening up. (Bonus: your hair will also smell nice all day).

Buy it: Realemon 100% Lemon Juice, 15 oz.

6. Banana peel

After eating a banana or throwing one in a smoothie, dont throw away that peel right away. Instead, rub the inside of the peel along your teeth. The high levels of potassium act as a great natural teeth whitener free of harsh chemicals, sensitivity side effects and brutal prices.

7. Honey

Honey is great for your face. Rub some of the sweet stuff on your face to reduce acne and moisturize your skin. You can also prevent those pesky razor burn areas by rubbing on honey immediately after shaving. Let the honey sit for several minutes, then rinse off.

Use raw honey for best results.

Buy it: Nature Nates 100% Pure, Raw and Unfiltered Honey, 32 oz.

8. Vaseline

Rub a bit of the jelly onto your neck and wrists right before spritzing on perfume or body spray the scent will last much longer and stronger as you go throughout your busy day.

Before applying eyeshadow or blush, dab a bit of vaseline on your eyelids and cheeks.

Also, instead of dropping big bucks for eyelash growth serum, simply apply Vaseline with a Q-tip to your lashes before heading to bed (be careful not to get it in your eyes). After adding this to your bedtime routine, youll soon see your lashes growing fuller and longer.

Buy it: Vaseline Jelly 1.75 oz.

9. Eggs

Eggs make an excellent, natural hair mask. Crack a whole egg into a small bowl and whisk together. Then spread evenly over dry or damp hair and let it sit for about half hour, before thoroughly shampooing and conditioning. The proteins in the egg will strengthen and soften your hair, leaving it shiny and smooth.

You can also use egg whites under your eyes to remove puffiness and bags.

Have fun trying out these simple yet life-changing beauty hacks. Your skin, hair and wallet will thank you.
