Turns out a club about the world's dullest people is one of the most interesting things you'll ever see. - photo by John Clyde

DULLINGTON When I was in high school a friend of mine and I were all about creating ridiculous nonofficial clubs.

We had the "Shoe Golf Club," where we played shoe golf a game we invented that about three people on the planet found interesting. We had the "Pine Tree Jumping Club," where we would get dressed in heavy clothes and ski goggles and then jump out of pine trees. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. We also had "Club Meier," which was a makeshift nightclub at our friend's house where we had terrible lighting, crummy music, bunches of soda and only a few guests.

I think it goes without saying I wasn't exactly popular in high school.

It's because of this background, however, that this video may be the best thing I've seen in quite some time. The 3-minute short shows off the "Dull Men's Club" and the dull hobbies of its members.

From collecting milk bottles to snapping pictures of roundabouts, these pastimes are well dull. Watching the video, however, you start to realize the Dull Men's Club is anything but dull; it's actually rather fascinating.

I want to hang out with these people and just get to know them a little bit more because while their interests may be boring, their personalities and stories of how they became passionate about these things are clearly not dull.

So dust off those old socks you've been collecting or dig that metal detector out of your garage because dull hobbies are now cool, thanks to a worldwide club celebrating you.
