WASHINGTON, D.C. The Mexican actor, model and singer Eduardo Verastegui, who is also the Mexican ambassador for Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), announced on Oct. 20 that he will be producing a new film about O.U.R.'s mission to save children from sex slavery, according to a news release.

The film, titled "The Sound of Freedom," will tell the story of a recent O.U.R. operation that Utah's Attorney General Sean Reyes participated in.

This month, O.U.R. was also presented with a reward from the Mexican government at their international anti-human trafficking event in Mexico City, according to the news release. O.U.R. founder and CEO, Tim Ballard, and other team members were declared federal diplomats of Mexico.

"I continue to be impressed with the commitment of the Mexican federal police and attorney general's office to the fight against child exploitation and child sex trafficking," Ballard said in the news release. "In the midst of a difficult fight against transnational criminal organizations and drug traffickers, our Mexican federal partners have shown a sincere desire to do what they can to save exploited children in their country and arrest those who would do them harm."

Ballard is a former CIA agent who graduated from Brigham Young University and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile, according to the O.U.R. website.

According to the news release, O.U.R. has assisted Mexico in three rescue operations in major American and western tourist destinations. They have rescued 43 trafficking victims and arrested 17 traffickers. They also remain in close contact with Mexican authorities to support prosecution of trafficking suspects and fund the rehabilitation of trafficking victims.

O.U.R. is a nonprofit organization with rescue teams that are comprised of former Navy SEALs, special forces, CIA and other operatives, according to the news release.
