‘Help your Neighbors’ requesting volunteers
“Help your Neighbors” is looking for volunteers. Can you knit, crochet, crossstitch, sew or craft? Can you run an errand or clean a yard for someone? Your help is needed to make items for a special group of hospice patients and their loved ones. Materials are provided. Caring people also needed to visit patients. Call  Debbie Rhodes, manager of Volunteer Services at VistaCare Hospice at (877) 691-1476 or (912) 330-0460. The organization is also accepting donations of yarn and fabric.
Hospice Savannah seeking volunteers
Volunteer training will be offered in the New Year. Currently volunteers are being sought to play music to patients; visit patients in their homes or nursing homes (Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, Liberty and Long counties); assist staff members and families in Hospice House in Savannah; or help out in the administrative offices on Chatham Parkway. Volunteer training is offered the second Monday and Tuesday of every month, and on the last Saturday of January and first Saturday of February 2007. Both sessions are required and lunch will be provided. Call Beth Logan at 355-2289.

LifeLink of Georgia
offering free training
LifeLink of Georgia, the local agency that coordinates organ and tissue donations for the state of Georgia, has scheduled a free training session for volunteers interested in assisting with educational programs pertaining to organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
The training is planned for 2 and 6 p.m. Feb. 1 at the LifeLink office at 14-B Chatham Center South, Suite B, in Savannah. Potential volunteers include transplant recipients and their families, patients waiting for organ or tissue transplantation, donor families, and anyone interested in promoting organ and tissue donation. All volunteers will receive supplies and training by LifeLink staff.
