The Walthourville Police Department provided food for Thanksgiving to at least 10 low-income families.
“This is one of the many ways we give back and illustrate to the citizens of Walthourville that we are a community department,” Chief Bernie Quarterman Sr. said.
Officers asked grocery stores for donations. Kroger, Food Lion, Wal-Mart and Save-a-Lot assisted the city and provided meats and staples for the meals.
Mayor Daisy Pray said she is proud of the Police Department and thanked the grocery stores who participated.
