According to organizer Kelli Mock, the 2009 Miss Long County Wildlife Pageant was a success.
The winner of the baby miss crown was Trinity Boutwell, who also won the prettiest smile award.
The winner of the toddler miss crown was Kaylee Kennard, and she too won the prettiest smile award for her division.
The tiny miss queen was Autumn Riley Parker, who also won prettiest smile, best western wear and the people’s choice award.
The petite miss queen was Ashlyn Taylor Hughes, who also took the prettiest smile award and the best western wear.
Taylor Sapp brought home the miss pre-teen crown, the best western wear award and the prettiest smile award.
Ashley Murphy won the junior miss crown, the prettiest smile award and the best western wear.
Robin Glandon won the miss crown.
Kylie Gaitten was crowned Ms. queen and she took home the prettiest smile and the best western wear awards.
McKinleigh Allen was crowned the most sponsored queen.
Shelby Carolyn Mock was crowned the 2009 miss Long County wildlife over-all queen. She also won prettiest smile and best western wear.
According to Kelli Mock, this year’s event was in honor of the late Terry Gordon, and all the proceeds from the night went to KIDZ-ETC.
“Our organization helps pay for scholarships for worthy girls at the end of their high school career,” she said. “Our pageants are a great starter for girls who have never competed before, and all of the contestants leave with a trophy and a goody bag.”
Mock went on to thank participants, sponsors and everyone who helped.
“We thank our judges, Mrs. Debi Smith and Dana McManus, our emcee, Jessica Chambless, our tabulators, Timi Horne, Michelle Lewallen and Debbi Gaitten, for making our banners and for decorating our stage. And a special thanks to Town and Country Beauty/Floral Shop for their help, and all of our parents, contestants and sponsors.”
The next pageant in Ludowici is the Miss Christmas Holiday Pageant, which will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Long County High School cafeteria.
