Division of Child Support Services employee Diane McKillop was presented with a plaque and a certificate of recognition Feb. 14 for her efforts in dealing with a soldier deployed to Afghanistan.  
“While this accolade is being given to Diane for her attention to this particular case, the efforts are representative of the team work displayed by the entire office, and the entire office should be congratulated,” Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney Tom Durden said.
McKillop helped the soldier and her attorney reach a resolution.  
“Soldiers who are deployed overseas not only have to serve our country in perilous conditions and keep themselves and others around them safe, but they also have to worry about the families and personal obligations they leave behind.  It is not always easy to maneuver through these things back home, and Ms. McKillop’s professionalism and compassions revealed God’s heart and loving kindness in her,” said Denise R. Turner, the soldier’s attorney.
McKillop’s plaque was signed by Brig. Gen. Ricky L. Waddell, commander of CJIATF-Shafafiyat in Afghanistan.  
“Sometimes, you just never know the one small thing you do may have a huge impact on someone else,” said McKillop, who has more than 14 years of service with the Division of Child Support.
