Wiser earns art scholarship at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -The University of Alabama Department of Art and Art History announces its scholarship award recipients for the upcoming academic year, 2024-25. Graduates, undergraduates and incoming freshmen in our degree programs in studio art, art history and graphic design were awarded over $120,000 in scholarships, thanks to generous donors.

• Sarah Wiser: Windgate Charitable Foundation Endowed Studio Arts Scholarship. Wiser, from Hinesville, is earning a Bachelor of Arts in studio art with a minor in art history.

Mount Union honors Davis

ALLIANCE, OH - The following University of Mount Union students were acknowledged at the institution’s annual Senior Recognition and Honors Convocation.

Treyon Davis, of Ludowici, was awarded The Black Student Union Service Award at the 2024 Mount Union Honors Convocation. This prize is awarded to worthy seniors for excellence in those qualities of dedication and service that will contribute to making this a better world for all.

Each year, the convocation honors graduating seniors and underclass students who have excelled academically, displayed excellent leadership skills and shown dedication to the University and community through outstanding community service initiatives.

ATHENS - The University of Georgia celebrated more than 8,000 candidates for graduation in the Class of 2024 during spring commencement ceremonies.

University of North Georgia

DAHLONEGA — The deans of each of UNG’s colleges announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for spring 2024.

Dean’s List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B. Dean’s List honorees included: Jasmin Ortiz Lopez of Hinesville Breanna Finif of Midway.
