ACOM, Manna House make Christmas brighter for 200 families

Volunteers helped ACOM and Manna House provide 200 turkeys and hams to local families and helped provide gas cards, even going so far as to help the recipients pump the gas. Photo provided

More than 200 families were blessed by the Manna House and Another Chance Outreach Ministries community Christmas food and gas giveaway event Saturday.

Turkeys, hams, chickens, desserts, non-perishable food items, peanuts, and $20 gas cards, for first 100 cars, were distributed.

Another Chance Outreach Ministries thanked every volunteer, civic leader, law enforcement officer, supporters and especially Katrina Deason, director of the Liberty County Manna House.

One man wounded in early Saturday morning shooting

One person was injured Saturday morning when multiple shots were fired on E.G. Miles Parkway and Strickland Road. According to Hinesville Police Department Assistant Chief Terronova Smith, a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his ankle was brought to Liberty Regional Medical Center by friends shortly after 1 a.m.
