A 20-year-old Allenhurst woman was killed in an early Sunday morning accident.
According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Christopher Cronsell the accident was reported shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Highway 84 and John Martin Road near Liberty County High School.
According to witnesses, the driver of a 2016 Honda Civic, identified as Kortney Jackson, was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane when she struck a 2025 Genesis GV70 vehicle head on.
Jackson was transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville where she was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Genesis, identified as a male, was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah where he is reported as being conscious and alert
Highway 84 was closed for several hours as law enforcement conducted the investigation.
