UPDATE: Body found in Long County identified, foul play suspected

Authorities have identified the man found dead in Long County as Omari S. Alexander, 18, of Hinesville.

Alexander's body was discovered around 6 p.m. Monday by a motorist near a private drive on County Line Road near Rye Patch, according to Long County Sheriff Craig Nobles. 

Nobles said the death has been ruled a homicide, however he would not go into detail on the manner of death. 

Alexander’s body will be taken to the GBI Crime Lab in Pooler where an autopsy will be conducted. Agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are assisting the Long County Sheriffs Office in the investigation.
