Bradwell, LCHS set to host grad ceremonies

The classes of 2024 for Bradwell Institute and Liberty County High School will receive their diplomas this weekend, with BI’s commencement taking place tonight at 6 p.m. at Olvey Field/ Hokey Jackson Stadium and Liberty’s scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. at Donell Woods Stadium/ Kirk Warner Field.

Bradwell Institute will graduate a class of nearly 350 and Liberty County High School’s graduation class is approximately 250-strong.

Long County High School’s graduation is set for Saturday at 9 a.m. at Veterans Stadium and graduation for First Preparatory Christian Academy’s seniors will be May 25 at 11 a.m.

Alysia Estrada is Bradwell Institute’s valedictorian and Na’ryah Robinson is the salutatorian.

Liberty County High School’s valedictorian for the class of 2024 is Arriyana Hayes, and Gunner Kesner is the salutatorian.

Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. tonight for Bradwell’s graduation and 5:30 p.m. Saturday for Liberty County High’s graduation.

For LCHS graduation Saturday, no vehicles will be allowed to park along Highway 84 from a stretch one mile east of the school to one mile west of the school. Caution barrels will be placed along the sides of the road to assist with preventing traffic from parking along Highway 84.

Those wishing to attend graduation will park at either LCHS, Snelson-Golden Middle School or Midway Middle School. Parking at LCHS will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.

The school system will provide free shuttles from Snelson-Golden and Midway middle schools. The first shuttle will depart at 4:30 p.m. and will run every 30 minutes. The last shuttle will leave the middle schools at 5:45 pm.

Those attending graduations are asked to bring noisemakers, alcohol, weapons, coolers, food, drinks, balloons, pets or distracting items such as beach balls. Those planning to attend either ceremony may wish to arrive early to allow time to park, line up for a security check, and find a seat.

Both graduations will be live-streamed at www.liberty. k12.ga.us. The live stream broadcast will be accessible 30 minutes prior to the start time of each ceremony. Video recordings of the ceremonies will be housed at www.liberty.k12.ga.us for a few weeks after the graduation ceremonies.

Forecasts call for a chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday and showers and possible a thunderstorm Saturday.
