Person of interest in Tuesday fatal shooting turns himself in
Shady Oaks shooting
Hinesville police officers gather at the scene of a fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon.

Hinesville police continue to look for a suspect in a fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon.

A person of interest in the shooting, Lamonte Bolden, turned himself in to authorities Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

Bolden was wanted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to Hinesville Police Detective Capt. William Oberlander, the shooting took place at Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park on the 1100 block of West Oglethorpe highway.

Oberlander said the shooting seems to have stemmed from an argument over money. When patrol officers arrived at lot 100 they found a male victim laying in the doorway of the mobile home suffering from a gunshot wound. The responding officers performed CPR on the man but were unable to revive him.

Bolden has been charged with a weapons violation. The victim’s name has not been released and no charges in that case have been filed.
