This is the sixth annual food drive for Ameris Bank.

Ameris Bank announces the sixth annual Helping Fight Hunger Food Drive Initiative during the month of October.

Seven Ameris Bank branches, including the two Hinesville branches, will collect nonperishable food items to donate to a local food bank. At the end of the month, Ameris Bancorp will also contribute a monetary donation toward each local food bank that is receiving contributions during the food drive.

“We recognize that there are many within our community who fight hunger on a daily basis,” said Greater Savannah Market President Austen Carroll.

Customers and residents are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items through Oct. 31. Collection boxes will be located inside each Ameris Bank branch. The Hinesville branches are at 102 W. Gen. Screven Way and 101 W. Hendry St.

This year’s food drive will touch many nonprofit organizations that specifically work to help end hunger throughout the region, including America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, Manna House and First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
