The Liberty County branch of Ameris Bank recently donated $1,500 to the 2014 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) marketing campaign.
“Ameris Bank is proud to be a part of Liberty County. As such, we are pleased to support the upcoming SPLOST referendum, which we see as being vital to the future growth and quality of life in Liberty County,” said James Rogers, Ameris Bank Liberty County market executive. “From roads to recreation to health care, SPLOST funds our future.”
The November vote for SPLOST renewal would not add an additional tax; rather, it is a 1 percent sales tax that will roll over into its sixth consecutive session if approved by voters.
It has been estimated that the fund could generate up to $54 million over the six-year period.
