SAVANNAH — Wes Barr recently was hired as mortgage-loan originator at The Coastal Bank.

In his new position, Barr, who has more than 13 years of sales and mortgage experience, is responsible for building new banking relationships and developing and processing mortgage loans.

Barr previously served as a loan originator at First Carolina Mortgage Inc., where he held several company records including highest aggregate-revenue generation since the bank’s inception, highest revenue generation for a single year and highest revenue generation in both single and consecutive months.

Originally from North, S.C., Barr is an author of mortgage columns in the Bryan County News. He lives in Port Wentworth.
