National department store retailer Stage Stores Inc., which includes Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles and Stage, recently announced a donation of more than $3 million to over 850 community organizations as part of its Community Counts Program in 2014. The program at Stage has donated over $5.9 million to more than 2,000 organizations in the past five years.
Hinesville is home to a Bealls, at 517 W. Oglethorpe Highway, and a Goody’s, at 149 Hendry St.
The Stage Stores Community Counts Program is committed to giving back to the communities where they do business through their corporate social responsibility activities; including corporate giving, as well as customer and employee donations, according to Michael Glazer, president and CEO of Stage Stores Inc.
“Each year, Stage Stores focuses on making a difference in each of the markets we serve,” Glazer said. “This commitment could not be possible without the generosity and support of our employees and customers.”
Of the $3 million donated, $1.4 million came from customer donations during the 30 Days of Giving campaign. Customers who visited any of the company’s department stores in March and September were invited to donate to local groups in their community that store associates selected.
“2014 was the first year for 30 Days of Giving and we were thrilled with the overwhelming support our customers and employees gave to local organizations they know and love,” Glazer said.
