Coastal Bank's Liberty branch gets new president

SAVANNAH -- Banking professional G. Mike Odom Jr. recently joined The Coastal Bank as executive vice president and Liberty County division president.
In his new position, Odom is responsible for growth and expansion of the company's Hinesville office and will assist in the development of other strategic initiatives.
"Obviously, we are delighted to have someone of Mike Odom's caliber joining us and leading a critical piece of our organization," said J. Thomas Wiley Jr., president and CEO of Coastal Bankshares, Inc. "Mike rounds out our executive management team and puts us in a position to significantly grow our Liberty and adjacent county markets."
With more than 20 years of banking experience, Odom has served as principal of Great Oaks Advisors, a community bank management advisory firm based in Richmond Hill. He also worked as the CEO of The Savannah Bancorp and group vice president of corporate banking at SunTrust Bank of Southeast Georgia.
"Mike will be a fantastic leader for our Liberty County division," said Billy N. Jones, a Hinesville attorney who serves as chairman of the board of directors for The Coastal Bank. "He's going to help take banking in Hinesville to an even higher level of service and success."
Odom is a member of the Georgia Bankers Association, president of Coastal Conservation Association of Georgia and a member of the Georgia Southern University College of Business Administration Deans Advisory Council. He is a graduate of Leadership Glynn County and has been named one of the Savannah Business Report and Journal's "40 under 40."

Originally from Jesup, Odom earned his BA in accounting from Georgia Southern University and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He is a member of Richmond Hill United Methodist Church and lives in Richmond Hill with his wife and two children.
