Coastal hires new loan officer

SAVANNAH -- The Coastal Bank has hired B. Ray Gassett Jr. as vice president of loan servicing and special assets.
In his new position, he will be responsible for all loan operations and loan documentation departments.
Before joining Coastal, Gassett served as Georgia risk manager at RBC Centura, senior vice president of loan operations/loan accounting, vice president of special Aasets at Flag Financial Corp. and assistant vice president at Thomaston Federal Savings Bank.  
Gassett has also served as president of the Sertoma Club, where he was responsible for raising funds for the speech and hearing impaired, and as president of the Upson County Empty Stocking Fund in Thomaston.

Originally from Thomaston, Gassett attended Flint River Technical College majoring in accounting and is a graduate of both the University of Georgia School Of Banking through the Georgia Bankers Association and the Commercial Lending School through the Community Bankers Association. He lives on Savannah's southside.
Locally owned by Coastal Bankshares, Inc., Coastal is headquartered in Savannah. It's branches include one in Hinesville.
