Liberty County and Hinesville will celebrate Georgia Small Business Week from March 19-23 by featuring small local businesses in various events and promotions sponsored by the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce/Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority.
“We are happy to be able to celebrate this week of recognition for our local small businesses once again,” said Leah Poole, CEO of the Liberty County Chamber/CVB. “As small business makes up the backbone of this country, we are proud to have so many great local entrepreneurs right here in Liberty County.”
To kick things off, Hinesville Mayor Allen Brown will sign a Small Business Week proclamation on at 2:30 p.m. March 15 and Liberty County Board of Commissioners Chairman Donald Lovette will sign a county Small Business Week proclamation at 5 p.m. the same day.
Beginning March 19, local small businesses will be featured each day in video profiles that will air on the Chamber and HDDA social media outlets. Twenty small businesses will also have “selfie frames” to take photos with employees and customers throughout the week.
The Chamber/CVB and HDDA will be visiting local small businesses on March 20 to express thanks and support. The community is invited to visit and support our local small businesses throughout the week as well.
On March 22, the monthly Progress Through People luncheon will feature Ryan Waldrep, assistant director of Entrepreneur and Small Business from the Georgia Department of Economic Development, sponsored by the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority.
Also on March 22, downtown Hinesville businesses will be hosting a Sip and Shop event from 5-7 p.m.
The celebration will continue into the following week with a workshop March 27 for employers in navigating and leading a multi-generational workforce. This Chamber/CVB workshop will be taught by Daisy Jones of Tealiris Legacy Services, 2017 Entrepreneurial Small Business of the Year.
In other news, the Liberty County Chamber/CVB will also host a Business Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4. Webster University is presenting this free event. Business booth registration is $25.
