Last month, Willie F. Johnson, owner of Johnson Shoe Shop in Ludowici, died after a long illness.
As a result of his death, his shop is now closed and his wife, Deeotha Johnson, is asking anyone who had turned in shoes for repair, to come by and pick them up. She said most shoes in the shop are not labeled with any information as to their owner.
"I am planning on donating any shoes which are left to charity, but I don't want to give anyone's shoes away who wants them," she said.
Johnson says she will keep all of the shoes until June 1, but after that, they will be donated to charity. You can call Johnson at 545-2316, about claiming items.
