Meeting to discuss downtown events

The Hinesville Downtown Partners, a coalition of business owners and managers, residents, leaders and citizens interested in the the city’s core, will meet from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday in the Hinesville Room on the third floor of City Hall.

The discussion will focus on events the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority has scheduled for the fall and winter, including the Scarecrow Stroll, Small Business Saturday and Christmas in the Park. The partners also will discuss ways to attract more residents downtown to shop, eat and enjoy activities.

“We have a lot of big downtown events coming up, and we really want to involve our downtown stakeholders and the community at large to ensure the success of our activities and programs. We also need sponsors and volunteers,” Main Street Program Coordinator Hollie Barnidge said. “We’re here to champion our local businesses every way that we can, and we’ll encourage our meeting attendees and area residents to do the same.”

As an incentive to attend, HDDA will have a drawing among business owners and operators at the meeting for a month of free advertising on a digital billboard on Highway 84. Barnidge estimated the value at $1,000.

Refreshments will be served at the session, and there will be information available about promoting  businesses and initiatives through the HDDA’s social-media channels, news releases, fliers and emails.
