Midway soon will be home to Dr. Tad Jackson’s newest dental office, proving Hinesville isn’t the only municipality attracting development.
“We’re not just a sleepy little city,” said Midway Mayor Don Emmons.
Remodeling the building next to the Midway post office should be finished by April, according to Ted Eby of Coastal Builders.
Work began in December on the approximately 1,800-square-foot, single story office building that will also include four operating rooms.
Given its proximity to Savannah, Sunbury and Richmond Hill, Eby said he thinks the office has a good central location.
According to the city’s master plan, Emmons said the area is also in I-95’s corridor.
“That’s our town center,” Emmons said of the dentist’s location.
He said the city has been encouraging more businesses to move into the area and thinks Jackson, who’s from Savannah, is a good start.
“He’s going to take an older building, renovate it and update it and make it look pretty good,” Emmons said.
The building used to be a NASCAR merchandise store.
“He [Jackson] sees an opportunity in a growing community and I think he’s made a good decision,” Emmons said.
