Public works contractor shows off new digs

CH2MHill/OMI Public Works had a ribbon cutting, grand opening and open house Sept. 6 in conjunction with the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce at the business’ new facility at 613 E.G. Miles Parkway in Hinesville.
Project Manager Gregg Higgins welcomed Mayor James Thomas, City Manager Billy Edwards, OMI staff, chamber staff and board members and others to the event.
“This is a huge upgrade,” said Higgins.  “This new facility will allow for an improved level of service.”
CH2MHill/OMI Public Works is a full service provider of sanitation services, street maintenance, drainage maintenance, fleet maintenance, and parks and grounds services for the city of Hinesville. Higgins said currently there are 86 full-time employees.
“This has been a long time coming,” Mayor James Thomas said. “Thank you for your work, your cooperation, and hospitality to the city of Hinesville. Your work is critically important to the growth of our city.”
Liberty County Chamber of Commerce CEO Leah Poole congratulated the organization on the new facility and offered support from the chamber.
