Two businesses, The Pour House Bar and Grill and Cake South, recently marked their openings with ribbon cuttings.

Olajuwon Bynoe, owner of Cake South, actual cut a cake during the grand-opening for his new business at 112 S. Commerce St. in downtown Hinesville. Bynoe, an Army specialist, was transferred to Fort Stewart from Fort Drum, New York, in October. The cakes he baked on post were popular with his fellow soldiers, so he decided to start a business. Cake South is open from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, and it’s closed Monday. For more photos from the grand opening, go to community.coastalcourier.com.

The Pour House Bar and Grill had its ribbon cutting on Friday at 135 W. Hendry St. in Hinesville, in the former El Rod’s location. After the ribbon cutting, attendees enjoyed a variety of cupcakes, beer mug cookies and cake in the shape of a beer barrel.
