Saving money while prepping for winter is even easier during Georgia’s tax-free shopping holiday taking place now through Sunday.
Residents can save big by purchasing ENERGY STAR qualified products at Lowe’s free of state and local sales taxes, and installing these energy-efficient items in their homes to reduce monthly utility bills.
Qualified products free of sales taxes include ENERGY STAR air conditioners, dehumidifiers, ceiling fans, clothes washers, dishwashers, doors, compact fluorescent light bulbs, programmable thermostats, refrigerators and windows that are $1,500 or less.
Consumers who purchase and install select ENERGY STAR qualified windows and doors now through Dec. 31, may be eligible to receive a tax credit of up to $500 on their 2007 tax returns.
In addition, to help families save even more money, Lowe’s is taking an additional 4 percent off prices of items covered under the tax-free holiday.
