SAVANNAH — The Coastal Bank recently hired John J. Stahl III as mortgage director and senior vice president.

Stahl will oversee mortgage-lending activity at The Coastal Bank and manage the mortgage team.

Stahl has more than 18 years of experience in banking. Before joining Coastal, he served as the director of mortgage lending at HomeTrust Bank in Asheville, N.C. and as vice president and area mortgage sales manager for Fifth Third Bank in southeast Florida. He also has worked in the mortgage division at regional banks.

Stahl earned an MBA in finance/real estate from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla., and a BBA in finance from Mercer University in Macon.
