Airings of a Pulse on America segment featuring Yellow Bluff, a marina community on the Liberty County coast, are taking place on CNN Headline News — at the top and bottom of the hour — this month in Sarasota-Venice, Fla. and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn.
Additional regional programming in March includes New York (Eastern and Long Island), Minneapolis-St. Paul, Mobile and Pensacola.
Yellow Bluff was selected by Pulse on America as a “residential development of distinction” in late summer 2006, and was filmed in early December.
The five-minute segment showcases the beauty and serenity of Yellow Bluff, Liberty County, and the coastal region of Georgia.
“The show focuses on all of the areas that make Yellow Bluff a residential development of distinction including the scenic beauty, the southerly breezes, the quality construction and craftsmanship, and the heritage of the land, the people and the architecture of coastal Georgia,” said Debra Brown, spokesperson for Yellow Bluff. “It is a wonderful opportunity to showcase Yellow Bluff, Liberty County and coastal Georgia on CNN Headline News, local stations in regions across the country and later in the year on a 30-minute segment on the Travel Channel.”
“Yellow Bluff is a rare find on the coast of Georgia,” said Yellow Bluff partner, Ren Keel. “Its rich history, natural coastal beauty, and close proximity to Savannah and the Intercoastal Waterway make it a perfect choice for a permanent residence or for a second home.
For nearly a hundred years, Yellow Bluff has been a retreat and recreation area. It began as a vacation spot and later opened as Yellow Bluff Fishing Camp in 1923. Throughout the years, folks have been drawn to the coast to enjoy the views and for fishing on St. Catherine’s Sound, crabbing off the dock, kayaking or boating.
That’s why Yellow Bluff Company partners, Ren Keel, Allen Brown and managing partner Fred Shore say preserving the integrity of Yellow Bluff has been a primary focus.
From the initial stages, the developers worked with land planner/architect Scott Barnard and Associates to save existing trees and to plan a neighborhood that embodied the essence of Yellow Bluff.
“We all agreed,” Keel said. “The master plan had to focus on the southeasterly sea breezes which build every day off the Atlantic Ocean and blow across St. Catherine’s Sound. When you visit now and stand on the porch of any of the cottages constructed on the streetscape, you can feel the breezes and have a great view of the bluff. And we wanted to preserve the property.”
“We’ve worked closely with Liberty County officials and the DNR to comply with the strict environmental rules and regulations,” he said. “Preserving the land and the surrounding waters are very important to us. In fact, we've re-routed roads and hand dug around trees to preserve them.”
Early on, JT Turner Construction Company, who was the winner of the 2004 Cottage of the Year by Coastal Living Magazine, joined the team to help guarantee the highest level of quality construction and craftsmanship.
The Yellow Bluff marina community includes The Cottages where a variety of coastal cottage prototypes are offered.
Custom home sites are available at Oyster Point with magnificent views. New neighborhoods across the street on 40 beautiful acres, The Retreat at Yellow Bluff and On the Green at Yellow Bluff, offer 1/2 acre to 2-acre lots.
“We have partnered with Coastal Communications and Coastal Electric Membership Co-operative to provide state-of-the-art technology and underground utilities. We also offer a Yellow Bluff sewer and water system for the community,” Brown said.
All purchases at Yellow Bluff include membership in the Yellow Bluff club system and the amenities at Yellow Bluff.
Amenities include the full service marina with concierge service, marina store, coastal-inspired clubhouse with pool and fitness center, Bluff Park for all residents to enjoy, walking trails, bird watching opportunities and more.
“Of course, fishing and boating will continue to be a key draw to Yellow Bluff,” Keel said. “In fact, Miss Judy Charters with Captain Wild Bill Jarrell just signed on as the official charter service for Yellow Bluff.”
In the past year, Yellow Bluff has been promoted in area and Atlanta real estate and lifestyle magazines.
“We’ve been a feature property in the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, Robb Report and CENTURY 21 Fine Homes & Estates Magazine on numerous occasions, including the Asian and European markets,” Debra Brown said. “We’ve also been included in numerous magazine articles including Cincy Business Magazine’s Focus on Savannah, 2nd Home Journal’s Waterfront Living, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Havens & Hideaways, and The South Magazine’s Architectural News & Notes,” she said. “We’ve also been a feature article in Homes of Distinction and the February issue of Total Business Lifestyle (UK) titled “Living the Dream,” she said.
“Recently, the Yellow Bluff Company, LLC, was inducted into the Leading International Agents & Developments, one of two in the state of Georgia.,’ she said, “All of the local, national and international attention is a benefit for Yellow Bluff, other area developments, Liberty County, and the coastal region of Georgia. It is exciting.”
