The Yellow Co. has announced that Yellow Bluff Coastal Cottages & Marina will be the site of the 2008 Holiday Coastal Cottage.
The Sunstruck Cottage, designed by L. Scott Barnard Architects & Associates and being built by JT Turner Construction Co, both of Savannah, is the first LEED certified Holiday Coastal Cottage.
LEED is a third party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. Construction is under way on the 4,175 square-foot home in Oyster Point.
"We are excited about the exposure that the 2008 Holiday Coastal Cottage will bring to our area," said Yellow Bluff partner Ren Keel. "It is an opportunity to showcase Yellow Bluff and the coastal area of Georgia to a five million-plus audience during the 2008 holiday season."
Featuring the latest in building trends and timeless interiors, the third annual Holiday Coastal Cottage is more than your average show home. The Sunstruck Cottage will be featured later this year in both Cottage Living and Coastal Living magazines. The "Holiday Coastal Cottage" section will not only bring the holidays to life with photography, entertaining and decorating tips, and recipes; but it will also feature the scenic beauty of Yellow Bluff and the coast.
"The Sunstruck Cottage is the first home to be built in Oyster Point at Yellow Bluff," Keel said. "The custom home overlooks expansive marshes, uninhabited Georgia barrier islands, and the Atlantic Ocean in the distance," he said. "The views are breathtaking at every level."
