A Hinesville man is allegedly facing DUI charges after he drove his Mercedes Benz 920 into his neighbor's house Tuesday evening.

According to Hinesville police department traffic accident investigator, Damitrus Styles, the driver, who was not identified, told the officer he was attempting to park his car in his driveway in the 200 block of Guyett Ave, in Griffin Park, around 8:40 p.m.

The driver told the officer his foot got stuck on the accelerator.

The car accelerated and crossed the roadway plowing into the bedroom of his neighbor's residence.

The vehicle became lodged in the bedroom window and wall. A water pipe inside the residence broke sending water flooding into the single story home. The man was arrested and charged with DUI according to Styles. There were no injuries reported.
