A Ludowici woman died in a fatal one-car accident in Walthourville on Saturday.
Christina Whigham, 23, was killed when she lost control of her Dodge Caravan while driving west on Arnold Drive.
According to a Georgia State Patrol accident report, the van left the road, struck a mailbox and began traveling out of control.
Whigham’s van moved more than 250 ft., hitting a wire fence and striking a tree, before overturning and coming to a rest on the van’s passenger side.
GSP is still investigating the cause of the accident.
A former varsity high school basketball star, Whigham was married to Carlton Whigham Sr. The couple had two sons, Carlton Jr. and Jordan.
She was an employee at Applebee’s in Fleming and Bob’s Pizza and Studio B in the Sandy Hills section of Long County.
