Summer brings the opportunity to enjoy warm weather and all that the outdoors has to offer. One of our favorite ways to do that is by having a picnic complete with the perfect bite to eat from Baldinos Giant Jersey Subs! This beloved sandwich shop is near and dear to our hearts because Hinesville was their very first location.

If you’re visiting Liberty County, it’s only right to load the family up in the car, pick up a sub sandwich and head to the spot of your choice. Keep reading to learn about a few picnic pairings that we recommend!

1. Bradwell Park

A Baldinos Cheesesteak is a great choice to take with you for a picnic in Bradwell Park. The location is equally as unique and original as the ingredients on your sub! The steak comes hot off the grill and is placed on fresh baked white or wheat bread. Pick your toppings and away you go! Let the kiddos play in the splash pad and enjoy your sandwich. The splash pad is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. all summer long, or go exploring in downtown Hinesville!

2. Eve Park

Pick up a No. 10 Tuna Sub before heading out to take in our coastal views and feel the salty breeze. This delicious sandwich is mixed with mayo and ready for you to add your favorite toppings. Get a half (6 ½ inches) or a whole (13 inches) and head on down to Eve Park, which is located at Halfmoon Marina. You’re likely to see boats going into and coming out of the water while you have a relaxing meal. If you choose to have dinner here, we recommend staying long enough to watch a sunset.

3. Historic Baptismal Trail

Grab a No. 7 Baldinos Extra Special before heading out to Riceboro. We chose this sandwich because this site also holds an extra special place in our hearts! It has thinly sliced layers of pressed and boiled ham, extra provolone cheese and salami, as well as capicola. Travel down the tree lined path to find the perfect spot to sit and enjoy your lunch or dinner. The site offers self-guided tours and allows visitors to learn about how it was an active holy place for over 100 years. If you plan on picnicking here, bring your furry family member along. It is pet friendly!

4. Veterans Memorial Walk

Relax and reflect in Bryant Commons at the Veterans Memorial Walk while snacking on a No. 14 American Special. It has layers of turkey, boiled ham and roast beef. Get it, “the Baldinos way” with lettuce, onion, tomatoes, vinegar and oil and seasoning. The American Special matches the vibe of this location, because the memorial was created to honor the lives of Liberty County’s fallen heroes. Spread out a picnic blanket and enjoy your meal beneath the trees draped in Spanish moss. If you don’t have one, stop by and see us at the Bacon Fraser House. We’ve got some! Our office is located at 208 East Court Street in Hinesville.

5. Fort Morris State Historic Site It is only fitting to order a No. 25 American Army Sub to enjoy at this site. Expect your sandwich to be piled high with turkey, boiled ham, roast beef, provolone cheese and whatever additional toppings you would like to add. This is the perfect bite to eat for a picnic at the only revolutionary historic site in Georgia with original earth works. Fort Morris was once used by the American Army to protect the former town of Sunbury from the British. Indulge in hundreds of years of history and get a clear view of the St. Catherines Sound!

6. Jones Creek Park

Order a No. 22 Marinated Chicken Salad Sub to add to your picnic basket and head out to Jones Creek Park. This sub is not only filling but also refreshing! This park is located right on the water in Isle of Wight, so you will get to see everything that goes on along the coast. Keep your eyes peeled because there is a very good chance you will spot a dolphin or two. Pick a shady spot at one of the picnic tables and get comfortable because this is going to be one of your new favorite spots!
