The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for The Butterfly Box Project on March 10, at the historic Bacon Fraser House, 208 East Court Street in Hinesville.

Leah Poole, president and CEO of the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce, welcomed those in attendance and congratulated Brianne Dollar, the owner of The Butterfly Box Project, on her non-profit. Dollar thanked those in attendance and gave a brief history of the business.

“When I was 17 years old, I was diagnosed with cancer during my senior year of high school, and this community gave me everything,” Dollar said. “They supported me and helped me through it, and I wanted to bring that back to this community and our surrounding areas, and through, what my best friend, Monica taught me about cherishing every moment. I want to give that back to other kids, teens, and young adults who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness before the age of 25.”

The Butterfly Box Project provides young patients with scrapbooking kits, instant cameras and boxes full of things that will help comfort them during their hospitalizations or treatments. For ways that you or your business can sponsor a box, visit them on Facebook at The Butterfly Box Project.
