This Wednesday the city of Hinesville goes sky high. On Wednesday, beginning at sunrise, city engineers P.C. Simonton & Associates will raise a water tower that holds 1,000,000 gallons of water 17 feet.
This is a part of a project that aims to raise three elevated water storage tanks to improve water pressure in parts of the Hinesville water system. The first site to be raised is the General Stewart Way water tank and it will be raised approximately a total of 35 feet, in two, 17-feet rises. The second raise will occur in a couple of weeks.
The raise will take approximately 10-12 hours to complete.
