In a special hearing at city hall on Thursday afternoon, council members revoked Vanessa Harden’s Business license after her husband, Maurice Harden, was arrested and charged with selling marijuana out of her business, Mo Better Car Wash, on Memorial Drive.
According to City Manager Billy Edwards, her license was revoked with the special condition that if she ever wants to apply for another business license of any kind she would have to appear before the mayor and council.
“We wanted to make a clear statement that the council won’t allow for this kind of activity,” Edwards said.
Maurice Harden was also charged in superior court with a single count of use of a firearm by convicted felon during commission of crime and with possession of tools for commission of a crime.
Harden is to have his preliminary hearing on Monday.
