A popular Hinesville night club sustained some exterior damage after a man shot at the building in the early morning hours of Jan. 30.

According to Hinesville Police Department Detective, Kyle Larimore a call came into the 911 center around 12:30 a.m. reporting shots being fired in the vicinity of the Frozen Paradise night club located in the 800 block of E. G. Miles Parkway.

Larimore said a nearby officer heard what he believed to be five shots while responding to the call. That officer reported he spotted a man wearing a black hoodie and pants running from the area while holding a handgun. The officer began to pursue the man who ran down Strickland Road allegedly tossing the weapon into a backyard. The officer later found the man hiding under a truck on Elaine Street. The man, identified as Jamin Jones, 21, was placed under arrest.

Larimore said Jones allegedly got into a physical altercation with another man at the club prior to the shooting. Jones allegedly went to his vehicle retrieved a weapon and went to the doorway of the club brandishing the weapon at customers inside the club. According to Larimore he then went to the side of Frozen Paradise and fired several shots at the building. No one was injured during the attack.

Jones had his first appearance before in Magistrate Court on Feb. 2, where he was denied bond. He faces five counts of aggravated assault, five accounts of terroristic threats, two counts of pointing a weapon at another person, one count of criminal damage to the club and one count of possessing a weapon while committing a felony.
